THELIOS GEORGIOU
Thelios Georgiou showed his music talent from a very young age. He started his music tuition in violin since the age of seven with a scholarship from the Municipal music school of Limassol. A few years later he got another scholarship from the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra to study trumpet. In 2012 he moved to London where he began his studies in Middlesex University where he had his performance tuition with Martin Hurrell and Craiq Patterson. A year later and after a successful audition he continued his studies in Guildhall school of music and drama from where he obtained a Classical Trumpet performance Diploma in Advanced studies, studying under the guidance of Anne McAneney, Will O’sullivan, Stephen Keavy, Philip Cobb και Alison Balsom. In 2015 he returned to Cyprus and completed his musical and instrumental studies at the Arte Musical Conservatory awarded with a BMus in Classical Trumpet Performance (hons).
He has a variety of participations and collaborations with various orchestras and brass ensembles. From 2016 he is working at the Military Music Dept. of Cyprus as a principal trumpet and trumpet teacher. At the same time he teaches trumpet at the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra music school and the Philharmonic band of Limassol Municipality.
