All students have to start taking music theory lessons at the same year they start learning a musical instrument. Music theory is considered to be the first step in getting to know the fundamentals, such as learning and identifying the notes and scales, practising the values/rhythm, and many more. Its purpose is to make students understand precisely what they are actually playing. The next stage after the music theory lessons is Harmony lessons. Harmony is a course teaching the combination of notes, scales and chords. By studying the rules and the work of renowned composers, students are enabled to deeply understand the musical masterpieces as well as compose music themselves. When this stage is over, students proceed with History of Music, Morphology and Orchestration lessons, as well as Composition if it interests them.

Unlike the musical instrument lessons, the theoretical lessons are conducted in groups. The school however supports that they too should be treated with the same respect as the private ones. The days and times of the lessons are predetermined by the school and the groups are formed by taking into consideration the level of each student.

The school offers recognized examinations for all of its departments, including the theoretical lessons. The majority of the examinations are from foreign universities and schools and particularly from the United Kingdom, Greece and Cyprus. All diplomas are recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture as well as by all universities abroad. Therefore, regardless of which theoretical lesson one has chosen and the levels completed, the school diplomas can be used as additional qualifications for admission in overseas universities!
