At musicNart, we believe that art is not a privilege; it is a right. Music, theater and dance are means of expression, personal development and social inclusion, to which every child deserves access — regardless of socioeconomic circumstances.
The PERIKLIS Program was created as an act of responsibility and love, through the need to offer artistic education to children who, due to financial difficulties, are deprived of this opportunity.
The occasion was given during the economic crisis of 2013, when we realized that more and more children were being forced to interrupt their studies. We responded in a spontaneous, but deeply human way: by offering free art lessons to children.
Our social mission is clear: to ensure every child the right to learn, create and dream through art.
For all children, but especially for those from vulnerable social groups and needy families, art is not just a luxury. It is an opportunity, a breath of hope and a first step towards a better future. The arts play a decisive role in the development of children’s personalities.
• They cultivate self-confidence and self-awareness.
• They develop communication and social skills.
• They learn discipline, cooperation and the expression of emotions.
• They experience art not only as a form of entertainment, but as a tool for life.
The PERIKLIS Program is our commitment to a tomorrow where no child is left behind. Where every child has the opportunity to discover their talent, express their voice and claim their future through art.
In this context, the school actively supports the PERIKLIS Program by providing space and infrastructure, through the active participation of instructors and the organization of charitable activities. The net proceeds from our major theatrical productions — events are allocated exclusively to support the program.
Through the Periklis Program the school desires to convey the real meaning of art to all students and their parents. Its goal is to make its students understand the value of volunteering and caring for the fellow human being, become conscious of their individual responsibility for social change, as well as acquire the right values and behavior.
